Step 1: Download Ledger Live (Official Software)

To use your Ledger device, you must install Ledger Live, the official desktop application.

  2. Choose your operating system:

    • Windows

    • Linux

  3. Download and install Ledger Live on your computer.

⚠️ Security Notice: Ledger Live should only be downloaded from Ledger’s official website. Never trust links from emails, ads, or third-party sources.

Step 2: Set Up or Restore Your Ledger Wallet

Once Ledger Live is installed, open the application and connect your Ledger device using a USB cable (or Bluetooth for Ledger Nano X).

You will be asked to choose one of the following options:

Set Up as a New Device

  • Create a secure PIN code
  • Generate a 24-word recovery phrase
  • Write down the recovery phrase offline and store it safely

Restore from Recovery Phrase

  • Enter your existing 24-word recovery phrase directly on the device
  • Regain access to your crypto accounts

🔒 Important: Your recovery phrase is the only backup of your wallet. Ledger Support™ will never ask for it.

Step 4: Add Cryptocurrency Accounts

After setup, you can start adding crypto accounts in Ledger Live.

  1. Open the Accounts tab
  2. Click Add account

  • Share the address with the sender

Send Cryptocurrency

  • Click Send
  • Enter the recipient’s address and amount
  • Confirm the transaction on your Ledger device
